From News Center (Reported by Xu Ming from School of General Education, Photos by Chen Mingxin) On August 28, 2020, a team of 7 persons led by Gan Jinming, the President of Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (LVTC), went to Fumian District, Yulin City to sign a college-enterprise cooperation agreement with Xiao Jiefu, LVTC’s outstanding alumnus and Chairman of Yulin Xinrong Washed Denim Co., Ltd., and inaugurated China's first denim school, China’s number one industry-college-research cooperation base for the key laboratory in Wuhan Textile University for advanced denim garment manufacturing in the textile industry, LVTC’s industry-college-research cooperation base and entrepreneurship demonstration project, and Xiao Jiefu denim washing studio. Tao Wei, the Director of Industrial Park Office in Fumian District, Yulin City, Chen Yong, the Director of Economic and Trade Bureau, Zhao Fengzhe, the Director of Development and Reform Bureau, Zhao Peng, the Secretary of Youth League Committee, Tian Yi, the Deputy Director of Land Requisition and Resettlement Office of Fumian District, and some other guests attended the unveiling ceremony.

The Key Laboratory in Wuhan Textile University for Advanced Denim Garment Manufacturing in Textile Industry is China’s number one national key denim washing laboratory. Under the guidance of the advanced technology of this laboratory, Xinrong Washed Denim Co., Ltd. has 3 invention patents, 2 utility model patents, 2 software copyrights and 4 production lines, reaching the daily washing amount of 100,000 pants ; the use of enzyme biotechnology reduces the consumption of water-absorbing chemicals, achieving the environmental friendliness.

Through the opportunity of establishing a solid college-enterprise cooperation relationship, adhering to the cooperation mode of “giving full play to the advantages of resources, building a talent cultivation platform jointly, and creating a distinctive brand”, LVTC and Xinrong Washed Denim Co., Ltd. will, by means of college-enterprise cooperation, resource sharing and in-depth integration, give full play to their respective advantages of resources to cooperate in the fields of joint construction of training bases, scientific research cooperation, production-education integration project construction and so on, in order to establish a high-quality applied talent cultivation system with distinctive characteristics and an education & training service system.

“After founding the Denim School, it is planned to cultivate denim talents, establish a Denim Museum and inherit and promote the denim culture, so as to provide more ‘innovation blood’ for the denim industry in Fumian District, remold the denim production process, improve the advanced manufacturing technology of denim garment industry substantially, bring new changes to the denim industry, realize the ‘micro-water’ denim production, and make denim garment more fashionable, ecological and environment-friendly.” Xiao Jiefu said.

At the ceremony, Gan Jinming, on belhalf of LVTC, also awarded the appointment letter of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor to Xiao Jiefu, congratulated and thanked him for his excellent performance of winning the first prize in the district-level qualification trials of the 6th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
