Good News: The student of our school won Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Chairman Nomination Award

"News from News Center (Text by Lan Duqian from School Youth League Committee Photos by Gao Zhenfeng from School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) " On the morning of May 30, 2022 National Science and Technology Workers' Day Guangxi Event and commendation ceremony of the 2nd Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Innovation Chairman Awards were held in the exhibition center of Guangxi Science and Technology Museum. Chairman LAN Tianli attended the ceremony and awarded the prize-winners. Guan Yifan from Class 1 of 2019 Industrial Robot Technology of School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering won Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Innovation Chairman Nomination Award and attended the commendation ceremony. This is the first time that our student has won this district-level honor.

It is reported that Guangxi Youth Science and Technology Chairman Award is the highest honor for science and technology innovation given to Guangxi youth and the prize-winners are all students from Guangxi who have made outstanding achievements in such field. In this commendation ceremony, a total of 10 young students won the Chairman Award and another 9 won the Chairman Nomination Award.

Our school has always put a high value on students’ innovation and entrepreneurship. In the past five years, we has won 15 prizes in China's "Internet +" and "Challenge Cup" competitions, including special prize, gold award and first prize; has 210 entrepreneurship and innovation projects combined with specialties, and 56 invention patents. Guan Yifan, the winner of this award, has won 5 patents, 1 state-level award and 5 autonomous region-level awards in terms of scientific and technological innovation. This award not only explains the strong capability of scientific and technological innovation epitomized by our students, but also the outstanding achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship made in our school.

The achievements obtained are closely stemmed from school leader's attention and concern, and more of the hard work by the experts and the teachers for their long-term dedication in entrepreneurship and innovation and guidance around the clock. We do believe that, with the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the outcome of innovation and entrepreneurship will be able to reach a new high level with better results.
